GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Despite a late push from his home-state school, athlete Dre Massey maintained his commitment to Florida.
The offensive playmaker signed with the Gators on Wednesday and will enroll in January. Florida coach Jim McElwain announced the signing on Twitter.

The 5-foot-10, 184-pound Massey committed to Florida on Nov. 29 at the conclusion of his official visit. Massey, who will be a running back, wide receiver and returner for the Gators, attends Goodman (Miss.) Holmes junior college, but is from Mauldin, S.C.
Following the hiring of Will Muschamp, South Carolina made one last run at Massey and tried to bring him on an official visit last weekend. Massey decided against it and addressed the situation on Twitter.
Despite the rumors! I am still a Gator!! ?>?
