Former Florida offensive lineman Andrew Mike announced his decision to join the Rice football program as a graduate transfer on Thursday via Twitter.
Mike, who appeared in all 11 games for the Gators as a reserve offensive lineman last season, announced his intention to transfer from Florida last month.
“I would like to extend my appreciation to the University of Florida. … To the gator nation, thanks for the undying support though [sic] think and thin,” Mike shared in a note via Twitter.
The 6-foot-6, 301-pound lineman was a 3-star prospect who signed with Florida as part of the 2014 national recruiting cycle.
Mike announced he plans to continue his education in the bioscience and health policy masters program at Rice next fall.
