Harris and Dawson, both seniors, are Florida’s top defensive players on a team that lost eight defensive starters from the 2016 season. Harris had a team-high 73 tackles in 2016 to go along with 2 interceptions, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble returned for a touchdown. Harris also played a key role in the Gators’ goal-line stand that secured a 16-10 win over LSU and Florida’s second-straight SEC East title.
Dawson had 24 tackles and an interception last season as the Gators’ primary nickel corner. He is expected to move outside in 2017 to replace second-round draft picks Jalen Tabor and Quincy Wilson.
Ivey, a junior, will be Florida’s starting left tackle this season after spending his first two years primarily playing left guard. Ivey was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2016 and also earned two SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors.
The four-day SEC Media Days event begins on Monday. Florida will be speaking on Tuesday.
