The Florida men’s basketball program received a much-needed commitment on Thursday in 3-star point guard Michael Okauru.
Okauru is the first backcourt player committed to the Gators and coach Mike White for the class of 2017. He announced his decision on Twitter.

Okauru is the fourth member of Florida’s 2017 class, which features 3-star power forwards Isaiah Stokes and Chase Johnson and 4-star small forward DeAundrae Ballard.
Okauru is ranked the No. 5 player in the state of North Carolina and the No. 43 point guard in the country, according to 247Sports.
