You know things are bad when mom has to get involved.
Florida coach Jim McElwain announced on Wednesday that Florida cornerback Jalen ‘Teez’ Tabor was suspended for the Gators season-opener against UMass on Sept. 3.
Later Wednesday, details emerged on the nature of the suspension, which was apparently a result of a fight with teammate C’yontai Lewis.
Jalen Tabor's suspension not drug related. He was suspended for getting into a serious altercation Tuesday with C'yontai Lewis, per sources.

Tabor tweeted about his involvement in the altercation on Wednesday afternoon, but his Twitter appearance was not the most anticipated Tabor social media appearance of the day.
That title belongs to his mother, Merri, who promised the Twitter world that she would comment on her son’s suspension.
It may have taken her the better part of five hours, which was a shrewd move on her part to build the drama, but she finally got around to making her statement:
As far as parental reactionary tweets go, this one seems pretty calm and calculated. Obviously, she’s out to defend her son, that’s easy to understand.
The Gators are expected to get both Tabor and Lewis back in the lineup in time for the Gators’ SEC opener against Kentucky on Sept. 10.
