GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida’s coaching staff had a huge first day of evaluations in the Sunshine State, and there’s no drop-off Tuesday with a full slate of recruiting visits on deck.
Running backs coach Tim Skipper is in the Fort Myers area visiting tailbacks Darrian Felix and Zaquandre White, a Florida State commit. Defensive backs coach Torrian Gray will join Skipper on those two trips and also stop by three other Fort Myers high schools (Dunbar, Gateway Charter and South Fort Myers).
Offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier will check out high schools in the St. Petersburg area, including Catholic, Gibbs and Admiral Farragut, home to wide receiver Matt Landers.
Wide receivers coach Kerry Dixon II makes his way to Orange City for Lorenzo Lingard, who is ranked the nation’s No. 2 running back for 2018 by 247Sports. Defensive line coach Chris Rumph will be in the Orlando area to evaluate defensive end Kevince Brown (Christian Prep) as well as 2018 defensive ends Dennis Briggs (Gateway) and Stacy Kirby (Jones).
Tight ends coach Greg Nord is in Ocala to see Miami quarterback commit N’Kosi Perry (Vanguard), Clemson offensive tackle commit Blake Vinson (North Marion) and 2018 athlete Justin Watkins (North Marion), who named the Gators in his top five on Saturday.
Defensive coordinator Geoff Collins travels to the Southwest Florida for high schools such as Desoto County, Hardee, Charlotte and Venice. Linebackers coach Randy Shannon will drop by Immokalee and then head to four Naples high schools (Barron Collier, Gulf Coast, Lely and Naples).
Offensive line coach Mike Summers will visit high schools in the West Central region of Florida to make evaluations at Brandon, Durant, East Bay, Lennard and Spoto.
