Florida forward Brooke Sharp scored a golden goal in the final minute of overtime to give the Gators a 2-1 win over Arkansas in the SEC Championship on Sunday.
Sharp drilled a header into the back of the net from just in front of goal to score for the second time this season. The Gators have won 12 SEC titles.
Florida (15-4-1), ranked No. 15 nationally and the No. 4 seed in the tournament, opened the scoring in the 29th minute when Savannah Jordan found the back of the net from inside the 6-yard box.
Arkansas (17-5) equalized when Alexandra “Sparky” Fischer scored in the 79th minute on a shot from 22 yards out. It was Fischer’s third goal of the season.
The Razorbacks are No. 19 nationally and the No. 3 seed in the tournament. They are expected to be receive an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament, which begins this weekend.
Arkansas had defeated Florida 2-1 in Fayetteville earlier this season.
