Florida’s shutdown cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III will take his incredible coverage skills to the NFL. Hargreaves will enter the 2016 NFL Draft, he announced in an Instagram post Monday.
Hargreaves was the first Florida player to be named a consensus All-American since Joe Haden achieved the feat in 2009. He led the Gators with four interceptions in 2015, broke up four passes and had 23 tackles this season.
The junior is projected to be a first-round pick in May’s draft. He is rated as the 14th overall prospect by CBSSports.com and is slated as the third-best cornerback in the 2016 draft class.
