Florida falls to No. 11 in the College Football Playoff rankings
Florida’s win over Vanderbilt was ugly, and the College Football Playoff committee decided to drop the Gators in this week’s rankings.
The Gators, who were slotted No. 10 in the first Playoff rankings, are now ranked No. 11 in this week’s poll. Stanford, Oklahoma State and Utah jumped Florida this week, while Michigan State and TCU fell behind the Gators.
Florida faces South Carolina this weekend to end its conference slate. The Gators will finish the season at home with games against FAU and Florida State before heading to Atlanta for the SEC Championship. The Gators’ opponent is unknown right now. One would have to think that if Florida wins out — including the SEC Championship game — it would have a very good chance at being one of the final four Playoff teams.
