UPDATE: There are conflicting reports out right now about Stubbs actually winning the job. According to Zach Abolverdi of the Gainesville Sun, Stubbs won the job. According to Anthony Chiang of the Palm Beach Post, the Stubbs news is not official just yet.
Florida held open tryouts on Wednesday in hopes of landing a walk-on kicker, and the Gators have reportedly found one.
Dallas Stubbs, a former Florida walk-on kicker/punter in 2013, is rejoining the team, according to Gainesville High School.
Former GHS kicker Dallas Stubbs will be on the sideline for UF against UGA next Saturday. Dallas earned a position as a back-up kicker.

The Gators were in desperate need for some depth at the position after walk-on Jorge Powell sustained a significant injury in the LSU game. Jim McElwain announced Wednesday that Powell will miss the rest of the season. Starting kicker Austin Hardin has dealt with a leg injury for most of the season as well.
Stubbs will be on the sidelines for the UGA game next Saturday. It remains to be seen if he’ll get any action in the game.
