Florida junior Antonio Callaway is the latest Gators player to be recognized during Watch List Season.
The wide receiver and return specialist was one of 46 players on Monday named to the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, given to the country’s most versatile player.
Callaway, who was named to the preseason All-SEC second team as a receiver and third team as a return specialist, has been Florida’s most dynamic player on offense over the last two seasons. He is the only player in Florida history to score a touchdown in five different ways (receiving, rushing, passing, kickoff return, punt return). He leads the team with 1,399 receiving yards on 89 receptions (15.7 yards/catch) over the last two years.
In addition, Callaway has been Florida’s primary punt returner. He returned two punts for touchdowns as a freshman and returned an onside kick for a touchdown as a sophomore. He is one return away from tying the school record for most kickoffs and/or punt return touchdowns in a career, a mark set by Andre Debose (2010-2014), Brandon James (2006-2009) and Jacquez Green (1995-1997).
