GAINESVILLE, Fla. — New Florida coach Dan Mullen has struck a different tone from his predecessor in a number of ways already, and that will continue when the Gators open spring practice next month.
Florida’s first two spring practices March 16 and 17 will be open to fans.
Bleachers will be set up along the Sanders Practice Fields and fans can fill in on the east and south sides to watch. Official start times for the workouts will be announced later.
Florida will also open two future spring practices to university faculty and staff, area first responders and city and game officials.
The Gators will conclude spring practice with the annual Orange & Blue game on April 14 in The Swamp.
Florida also announced that it will hold its pro day, where NFL scouts come into evaluate the Gators’ draft-eligible players, on March 28 at the Indoor Practice Facility.
The open practices will give fans and media alike their first glimpse at freshman quarterback Emory Jones working with the coaches. The Gators’ quarterback competition, which also includes incumbent starter Feleipe Franks, will be the story of the spring and fall.
In all, Florida has nine early enrollees from its 2018 recruiting class who will be going through their first official practices as Gators.
