Florida’s prospects of winning the SEC East look mighty good now.
The Gators have a 79-percent chance to win the division, per ESPN’s Football Power Index. They sit atop the SEC East at 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the SEC, which places them a half game ahead of Kentucky and two games ahead of Tennessee. Florida beat Kentucky 45-7 on Sept. 10, but the Gators lost to Tennessee 38-28 on Sept. 24.

To show how much things can change, you might recall the ESPNU graphic below tweeted by Gators quarterback Luke Del Rio in July that showed Tennessee had a 57-percent chance to claim the SEC East title, as calculated by ESPN’s FPI. At the time, Georgia had a 30-percent chance and Florida only a 10-percent chance.
