With kickers Austin Hardin and Jorge Powell nursing injuries, Florida has turned to the student body to help with the depth at the kicker position.
The Gators announced on Monday that they would be holding open tryouts for students looking to be the team’s next kicker. Florida had an overwhelming response to the call for help.
Thanks all for the response to the #Gators kicker tryouts. Over 200 people signed up. Should be an interesting tryout.

Students were asked to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center and request final amateurism, obtain approval from the football offices, obtain approval from the office of student life and get a physical from the student health care center. For over 200 students to get all of that done in a day when they weren’t preparing to do something like this is impressive.
How awesome would it be if one of these students ends up kicking a game-winning field goal for the Gators?
