Let’s face it. When Florida sent out kicker Austin Hardin late in the fourth quarter to attempt a field goal that would give the team a lead, Gators fans probably had a lump in their throats.
Heading into that kick, Hardin had missed his four previous tries. With a chance to erase the streak, Hardin nailed a 43-yarder to give the Gators a 9-7 lead. Florida went on to win by two.
With the help of his right leg, Florida clinched the SEC East and a berth in the SEC championship. After the game, Hardin had some fun on Twitter.
Edgar Thompson of the Orlando Sentinel took somewhat of a shot at the kicker during the Florida-UGA game, but in the end, Hardin had the last laugh.
