SEC Media Days is the perfect platform for players to provide bulletin board for the upcoming season.
Florida linebacker Jarrad Davis did just that on Monday when discussing the Gators’ annual matchup with Tennessee.
“It’s always one of the funnest games of the year. Because we win,” Davis said.
Davis was not incorrect in his assertion, as the Gators have topped the Vols in last 11 contests. Florida beat Tennessee, 28-27, last season and will be going for win No. 12 this year on Sept. 24.
Both teams are viewed as possible SEC East champions, with Tennessee widely seen as the favorite to make it to Atlanta. It will be a highly-anticipated matchup, and Jalen Tabor’s jabs at Tennessee via Twitter will also add some fuel to the fire.
Davis enters the 2016 season after finishing No. 14 in the SEC with 98 tackles last year.
“Do you really want to be the guy to let that slip? You can ask yourself that. It’s real,” Davis said about Florida’s streak against Tennessee. “The pressure is real … to go out there and perform and uphold that record.”
