Florida a No. 4 seed in 2017 NCAA Tournament, takes on East Tennessee State in first round
The Florida Gators are back in the NCAA Tournament. And in the first round, they’ll be playing close to home.
Who does Florida play in the NCAA Tournament?
The Gators earned a No. 4 seed and will take on East Tennessee State in Orlando, Fla., on Thursday. The Gators are in the East region, the same as No. 1 overall seed Villanova, No. 2 seed Duke and No. 3 seed Baylor.
Should the Gators beat East Tennessee State, they would take on the winner of the Virginia-UNC-Wilmington game on Saturday.
The Gators will be making their first appearance in the tournament under second-year head coach Mike White. The Gators went 24-8 this season and finished in second place in the SEC. The Gators lost in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament to Vanderbilt.
The last time the Gators made the NCAA Tournament, in 2014, they went to the Final Four.
