GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Brandon Sandifer has left the Florida football team, Gators coach Jim McElwain announced Monday.
“He’s no longer with us. He’s going to move on,” McElwain said.
Sandifer, a redshirt sophomore, appeared in two games last season as a reserve guard. He originally committed to former coach Will Muschamp in August of 2014 and stuck with the Gators after their coaching change.
A 6-foot-3, 323-pound lineman, Sandifer was not expected to compete for a starting job this year. With his departure, Florida now has 12 players at guard with signee T.J. Moore set to join the roster in June.
