Florida picked up a commitment Saturday from tight end Zech Byrd, he announced on Twitter.

Byrd, a 6-foot-6, 235-pound prospect from Millbrook, Ala., becomes the Gators’ 14th commitment for next year’s class, and second tight end pledge.
Byrd chose Florida over the in-state Crimson Tide. He’s ranked No. 31 at his position in the 247Sports Composite.
As is typical when a recruit commits, Gators coach Jim McElwain took to Twitter to unofficially confirm the news.
