GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida will be without one of its running backs for the Citrus Bowl.
True freshman Jordan Scarlett is suspended for the game after a citation for marijuana. 247Sports first reported the news, and SEC Country confirmed the suspension.
According to Alachua County court records, Scarlett was charged on Dec. 23 with first-degree misdemeanors for marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The case is still open, and Scarlett is scheduled for a Jan. 6 court date.
The 5-foot-10, 198-pounder rushed for 181 yards and one touchdown on 34 carries this season.
Two more UF players have been ruled academically ineligible for the bowl game.
