The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder plays quarterback for Blount High School (Eight Mile, Ala.), but committed to the Gators as an athlete. Toney holds eight reported offers and chose UF over Georgia Tech and South Carolina, among others. He becomes the fifth member of the Gators’ 2017 recruiting class and the first from outside the state of Florida.
Toney is rated as the nation’s No. 16 dual-threat quarterback and the state of Alabama’s No. 33 prospect, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
