Florida lost a commitment Wednesday at its No. 1 position of need.
Blades committed to UF last summer after visiting the school for the first time, and he returned on Jan. 13 for his official visit. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect released his top 5 Wednesday night and still has Florida in it, but he’s likely headed elsewhere.
Blades officially visited Nebraska last weekend and the Cornhuskers are now the favorite to land him. He’s considering a trip to Southern Cal this weekend and also has Georgia and Oregon in the mix, though he’s never visited either school.
With Blades seemingly off the board, the Gators now have 14 commitments and two cornerbacks in the class (Shawn Davis and Marco Wilson). This weekend UF will host a pair of prospects at the position: 4-star CB Brad Stewart (New Orleans) and 3-star CB Brian Edwards (Miramar, Fla.).
Arkansas, Arizona State and Florida are the finalists for Stewart, while Edwards is down to the Gators, Louisville and Miami. UF is also a finalist for 4-star cornerback C.J. Henderson (Miami), but the hometown Hurricanes are trending for him.
