Florida coach Dan Mullen met with another top target on the recruiting trail Thursday.
Andrew Chatfield had an in-home visit with Mullen, quarterbacks coach Brian Johnson and tight ends coach Ja’Juan Seider, his primary recruiter.
The 4-star defensive end/linebacker from American Heritage High School (Plantation, Fla.) is expected to officially visit Florida before National Signing Day.

The Gators were once considered the team to beat in Chatfield’s recruitment, but a Nov. 2 offer from Miami — coupled with Florida’s coaching changes — gave the Hurricanes momentum.
Chatfield made three trips to Coral Gables in a three-week span during the fall, officially visited Miami last weekend and returned to campus Monday for the men’s basketball game against Duke.
Miami isn’t Florida’s only competition for the 6-foot-2, 221-pound pass rusher. He is scheduled to visit Florida State this weekend and has also taken an official to Oklahoma.
The former Ohio State commit last visited Florida for its regular season finale against FSU and also attended the LSU and Tennessee games in The Swamp.
