After Florida basketball coach Mike White hired Armon Gates and then Gates left just weeks later to join the Nebraska staff, White has again filled that assistant coach position on staff.
According to ESPN college basketball reporter Jeff Borzello, White has added Al Pinkins from the Texas Tech Red Raiders, who had an excellent season last year.
Florida expected to add Texas Tech assistant Al Pinkins to its staff, sources told ESPN.

Pinkins was part of a big jump the Red Raiders made during the 2017-18 season.
Texas Tech finished 27-10 and earned a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament, where it won three games to advance to the Elite Eight before losing to eventual champion Villanova.
Pinkins replaces the short-tenured Gates, who officially joined the Nebraska staff earlier this week after just one month at Florida.
Pinkins is no stranger to SEC basketball. Prior to his two seasons in Lubbock, Texas with the Red Raiders, he coached a total of five seasons in the conference at Ole Miss, Tennessee, and LSU.
