Florida starting QB Will Grier battling flu, status against Ole Miss is uncertain
Earlier this week, Florida coach Jim McElwain announced that nine players had caught the flu. It looks like that number has ballooned to 21, and arguably the Gators’ most important player has it.
Starting quarterback Will Grier is battling the flu and his status for Saturday’s game against Ole Miss is uncertain, according to the Associated Press’ Mark Long. That would be a big blow to a Florida team that is riding high on momentum from last Saturday’s dramatic comeback victory over Tennessee, in which Grier led them on the game-clinching comeback drive that sealed a 28-27 win.
If Grier cannot start, sophomore quarterback Treon Harris will likely get the nod. Harris was suspended for the Tennessee game for failing a drug test.
