Jim McElwain has not only been planning a football season; he’s been planning a wedding, too.
One of his daughters is tying the knot this year, and the Gators coach discussed some of the specifics with reporters during Tuesday’s press conference at the SEC spring meetings.
For instance, did he cap the number of guests?
“I think we capped it naturally by having it in Montana,” he said (via the Knoxville Sentinel‘s Dustin Dopirak).
Alas, there were more pressing matters to attend to during the presser, including the disappearance of wide receiver Antonio Callaway, the health of linebacker Alex Anzalone and offensive lineman Martez Ivey (cleared to play) and satellite camps.
Ten SEC teams will host events in the state of Florida, and McElwain is not surprised.
“They should come,” he said (via ESPN’s Brett McMurphy). “It’s as good of football as there is in the country.”
It’s not as if he has a choice.
“Would I rather have them not come?” he said (via the Tampa Bay Times‘ Matt Baker). “That’d be a good deal.”
