Chauncey Gardner is arguably Florida’s most important commit, and it’s not just because he is the highest-ranked recruit in this year’s class.
Gardner, a 4-star defensive back from Cocoa (Fla.) High School, is constantly recruiting other top targets and showing love to Gator Nation on Twitter. But he took to social media after the Florida-Florida Atlantic game to address a more serious issue: Apparently someone was verbally attacking his mother.
Obviously, the game was more emotional than it should have been. The Owls took the Gators to overtime but fell just short. The emotions of the game are no excuse, though, for attacking anyone’s mother.
Gardner is ranked as the nation’s No. 8 cornerback and is rated the state of Florida’s No. 14 overall prospect.
