The NBA world is probably fixated on Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, and rightfully so. But a former Florida basketball player achieved history outside of the Bay Area Wednesday night.
Former Florida and current Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem appeared in his 146th playoff game Wednesday night. The significance? Haslem set the record for playoff appearances by an undrafted free agent during during Miami’s 99-91 loss to the Toronto Raptors in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal, according to 247Sports.com’s Thomas Goldkamp.
Haslem has won three NBA championships during his 13-year career. He averaged 1.6 points and two rebounds per game this season. He averaged 13.7 points and 6.4 rebounds throughout a four-year career at Florida from 1998-2002.
