Former Florida linebacker Jelani Jenkins left the school in 2012, but he came back to Gainesville for some unfinished business.
The Miami Dolphins linebacker returned to campus this spring and officially earned his degree last weekend.
“It’s special and puts a period on this whole Gator experience that I’ve had, to be able go and walk in the same Swamp that I played football in,” Jenkins told Scott Carter. “It was always important for me to finish up. It was always part of the plan.”
Now that Jenkins is officially a college graduate, the fourth-year pro can shift his focus back to building on an already impressive NFL career. Jenkins has started 27 games and recorded 181 total tackles the last two seasons with Miami. The former fourth-round pick racked up 182 tackles and six sacks in four seasons with the Gators.
Jenkins can now add college graduate to his list of accomplishments.
