Will Grier is off to a hot start with West Virginia.
The former Florida quarterback continued his impressive play for the Mountaineers on Saturday, completing 19 of 27 passes for 304 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception as West Virginia rolled Delaware State. Grier entered the day with 723 yards passing and 8 touchdowns with 1 interception.
Granted, more will be learned about Grier as West Virginia moves through Big 12 play. So far, the Mountaineers lost against Virginia Tech and beat East Carolina before facing Delaware State on Saturday.
Grier threw for 1,202 yards with 10 touchdowns and 3 interceptions for the Gators in 2015. He received a one-year suspension for performance-enhancing drugs while at Florida before transferring to West Virginia.
Still, the early returns are promising for Grier. It will be interesting to follow him throughout the fall.
