Minutes after landing one of the nation’s elite receivers, a four-star defensive tackle left Florida’s class.
Shavar Manuel, who visited Florida State over the weekend, announced his de-commitment from the Gators. He is expected to sign with the Seminoles.
According to a source close to the Florida program, Manuel would have had trouble meeting the academic requirements for UF enrollment. An IMG Academy spokesperson had previously told SEC Country that Manuel had work to do in the classroom.
His departure leaves the Gators with three incoming defensive linemen for 2016: Antonneous Clayton, Jachai Polite and Jordan Smith.
