GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Add another 5-star recruit to Florida’s visitor list this weekend.
Alex Leatherwood announced Tuesday he plans to visit UF for the LSU game on Saturday.

The 6-foot-6, 327-pound prospect from Pensacola, Fla., is ranked the nation’s No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 5 overall prospect. Leatherwood is currently committed to Alabama, but his recruitment hasn’t stopped.
He officially visited Michigan this past weekend and attended an Auburn game in September. But Leatherwood has expressed to SEC Country — both privately and publicly — that Florida is his No. 2 school.
Leatherwood hasn’t been to UF since the spring game and his summer plans to visit the school fell through. So getting him back on campus Saturday will be huge for the Gators.
“They keep recruiting me hard,” Leatherwood told SEC Country. “I just like the direction the program is going. I really like the coaching staff and I want to spend more time with them on my visit.”
Top WR looking forward to UF trip
Leatherwood won’t be the only 5-star recruit in Gainesville this weekend.
Donovan Peoples-Jones, the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver from Detroit, is one of two official visitors for Florida. The 6-foot-2, 192-pound prospect last visited UF in April and is looking forward to his return.

Like Leatherwood, People-Jones is being recruited by multiple members of the Gators staff and has a close relationship with the coaches.
“I really like the coaching staff,” People-Jones told SEC Country. “They’re real friendly. They’ve came to see as many times as possible. They even had a (satellite) camp in Detroit. So they’re making me a priority and I really appreciate that.”
Florida OL commit visiting Miami
The Gators will have nine pledges at the LSU game, but Kadeem Telfort won’t be one of them.
The 4-star offensive tackle from Miami is visiting his hometown Hurricanes for their rivalry game against Florida State on Saturday.

The 6-foot-7, 300-pound prospect used to be committed to Miami but flipped to Florida in July of 2015. The two in-state schools will be battling it out for him until signing day.
