GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida will have a handful of commitments and a few top targets visiting Saturday for the North Texas game.
Quarterback Jake Allen (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), wide receiver Daquon Green (Tampa, Fla.), defensive tackle Jordon Scott (Largo, Fla.) and cornerback Shawn Davis (Miami) will be in attendance. All are solid pledges in the Gators’ 2017 class.
Green recently discussed his recruitment with a local TV station.

Jaleel McRae, a 2019 defensive back commit from New Smyrna Beach, Fla., is also attending the game.
The Gators will receive a visit from Miami cornerback C.J. Henderson, who is currently committed to the Hurricanes. He’s still strongly considering Florida and is close friends with Davis. Linebacker Sterling Jones, who holds a UF offer, is making the trip from Montgomery, Ala.
Two of the top wide in-state receivers for 2018, 4-star recruits Mark Pope (Miami) and Warren Thompson (Seffner), will be on hand as well. Pope last visited Florida for Friday Night Lights, while Thompson is attending his second consecutive Gators game.
Thompson spoke with SEC Country after Florida’s 45-7 win over Kentucky.
“It was a great atmosphere and I loved the offense,” Thompson said. “They play a pro-style offense and I just want to get up here more often.”
Recruit visiting elsewhere
Some of Florida’s top targets will be checking out a couple big games in the SEC on Saturday.
Auburn takes on Texas A&M and is scheduled to host 5-star offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood (Pensacola, Fla.), 4-star defensive end Markaviest Bryant (Crisp County, Ga.) and 4-star cornerback Deangelo Gibbs (Grayson. Ga.). Leatherwood will attend Florida’s next home game against LSU.
LaBryan Ray, a 4-star defensive end from Madison, Ala., is heading to Ole Miss for the Rebels’ matchup against No. 1 Alabama. Ray plans to officially visit Florida.
