GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Injuries will not keep a pair of Florida starters sidelined Saturday.
Wide receiver C.J. Worton and Daniel McMillian have both been dealing with high-ankle sprains, but practiced Wednesday. UF coach Jim McElwain expects them to play against Kentucky.
“C.J. Worton was running pretty good,” McElwain said. “I’ll take a look at video, but he wasn’t laboring. I thought he finished practice, so I think we’ll be able to get him back and that will be a big help.
“D-Mac went, that’s a tough guy now. I’m telling you. I mean I’ve seen some high ankles go for, man, half a season. But he went and I thought he did pretty good.”
Worton, who ran with the first-team offense, missed the season opener because of his injury, while McMillian played through the first game with a sprained ankle.
Worton caught a 46-yard touchdown in the SEC Championship Game and will have a bigger role this year. McMillian saw action in all 14 games last season and will be a full-time starter as a senior.
