Baseball team returns with the national title

Less than 24 hours after walking off the field at TD Ameritrade Park as College World Series champions, the Florida baseball team returned to McKethan Stadium for a post-championship celebration with its fans. A photo gallery of the event can be seen here.

Tim Tebow homers in St. Lucie Mets debut

Former Florida Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback and now New York Mets minor-league baseball player Tim Tebow had a successful debut with the advanced Single-A St. Lucie Mets on Wednesday. Tebow hit a home run to center field in the second game of a doubleheader to kick-start his contribution to a new team. His performance — a 3-for-5 day at the plate with 2 RBI and a walk over the two games — drew the attention of an National League scout, according to the New York Post.
