Getting ready for the second half
After a 3-3 start to the season, the Gators are eyeing an opportunity to improve and reach their goals for the season during the final five games. Here are 5 keys for Florida football heading into the back half of the season.
Home soccer match relocated
With white nationalist Richard Spencer scheduled to speak at the University of Florida on Thursday, the No. 20 Gators soccer team’s home game against Kentucky has been relocated to Embry-Riddle University in Daytona Beach. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m.
“I’d like to thank Embry-Riddle athletics director John Phillips for agreeing to accommodate the teams and this match. This is an unusual request and we are grateful that Embry-Riddle is welcoming this event to their campus,” UF athletics director Scott Stricklin said in a statement. “Also appreciate the cooperation from Kentucky athletics director Mitch Barnhart and the Wildcat team in this location change.”
Awards and honors
Men’s basketball junior KeVaughn Allen was one of 20 players named to the preseason watch list for the Jerry West Award, given annually to the best shooting guard in college basketball.
