Anytime Jalen Tabor is given a microphone, he seems to make some sort of headline.
Tabor was given a microphone on the Paul Finebaum show on Thursday and the junior cornerback did not disappoint.
Finebaum made sure to bring up Tennessee with Tabor, as Florida and Tennessee players have traded words throughout the offseason. Tabor, again, had some words that will likely sting Tennessee fans.
“You guys pick them,” Tabor said. “I don’t see how. I know I’m a player, but I really don’t see it. I know we have a lot of talent and we have a lot of great coaches. I feel like to get the East and the SEC Championship you have to come through The Swamp and the Florida Gators, and it’s been that way since the beginning of the SEC and beginning of time.”
Florida won the SEC East last year, thanks to a 28-27 win over Tennessee. The Volunteers held a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, but lost only missed last second field goal.
Tabor also brought up some facts regarding the rivalry between the two schools.
“I mean it’s just certain things that happen every year, every day. Just like you have your show on SEC Network at a certain time every day,” Tabor said. “Just like the weekend in the fall where the Gators play the University of Tennessee, the same thing has been happening for 11 years. The greatest indication of the future is the past.”

Tabor also discussed Florida’s social media policy, which is part of the reason he has been able to generate such a large following. Tabor has over 11.8K followers.
“Coach Mac tells us to be smart with it,” Tabor said. “He likes the fact that we can express ourselves. If you feel like we have to say something, we have to say something. With those all those controversial tweets I feel like we can back it up during the season.”
Tabor did not play in last year’s game against Tennessee, but he did have four interceptions last season.
