GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The commitments kept coming Sunday for the Florida Gators.
Ja’Marr Chase, a 4-star wide receiver from Metairie, La., announced his pledge to Florida on Twitter. Chase attended Florida’s Friday Night Lights and wanted to get closer with Gators coach Jim McElwain and assistants Kerry Dixon II and Tim Skipper.
“I like all of them,” Chase told SEC Country after his visit Friday. “They’re just good people, they treat me like family and they say I’d be a great fit. … I always want to come back here. Great coaching staff, great football team, SEC, it’s a great place to be.”
The Gators now have 13 commitments in their 2018 class and Chase is the eighth recruit they’ve landed this week. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Chase is ranked as the nation’s No. 21 wide receiver and No. 103 overall prospect in the 247Sports composite.
