Top 100 wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is no longer committed to Florida.
Chase backed off his pledge Wednesday, announcing the move on his Twitter account.
The 4-star recruit from Metairie, La., pledged to the Gators on July 23 after attending Friday Night Lights.
Florida assistant Tim Skipper served as the primary recruiter for Chase, who is ranked the nation’s No. 6 WR by 247Sports.
With Jim McElwain’s departure and Skipper’s uncertain future on the staff, Chase has decided to reopen his recruitment.
He holds more than 30 scholarship offers and his top contenders are likely LSU, Michigan and TCU, along with Florida.
