With Florida on a bye week, Gators coach Jim McElwain hit the road to visit one of the team’s top recruiting targets at his high school game Friday night.
McElwain was in attendance at Tampa Catholic High School, which is where Nate Craig-Myers plays.
After the 5-star wide receiver, according to Rivals.com’s rankings, scored an 83-yard touchdown, McElwain was spotted gator chomping. Florida has a leg up in Craig-Myers’ recruitment because his brother, cornerback Jayvaughn Myers, is currently committed to the team. According to his 247Sports Crystal Ball, 44 percent of recruiting analysts have Craig-Myers pegged to Florida.
It sure would be a huge pickup for McElwain and his staff if Craig-Myers was to become a Gator.
