Three offensive starters from 2015 missed spring football for the Florida Gators, but one of them is close to returning.
Offensive guard Martez Ivey, who started the final eight games of last season, is recovering well from his shoulder surgery in January.
“He’s been great,” UF coach Jim McElwain said of Ivey during the SEC football teleconference Wednesday. “He’s back to doing a lot of things we need to do in the weight room. He had a really good spring from the standpoint of a rehab situation and actually is ahead (of schedule), and yet we have to make sure we don’t push it too soon.”
Record-setting wide receiver Antonio Callaway and quarterback Treon Harris are still serving suspensions. They’ve now been away from the team for four months.
“No,” McElwain said when asked if there’s any update on Callaway and Harris. “Status quo.”
