GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Hurricane Matthew could affect several college football games this weekend, including Florida-LSU.
A decision is expected to be made Wednesday on whether the Gators and Tigers will be able to play in Gainesville. The game is scheduled for Saturday at noon on ESPN.
“Well aware of what could happen and the preparation for that,” UF coach Jim McElwain said on the SEC coaches teleconference. “It’s one of those deals that whatever happens will obviously be the best for the campus, the state of Florida, first responders, all those type things, but right now were planning to go ahead with whatever the plans were.”
The SEC could either postpone the game or move it to a different location. McElwain has an alternative site in mind.
“We got an indoor,” McElwain said jokingly. “I guess we could go do it in there if we have to.”
