Jim McElwain: ‘That was embarrassing. Didn’t deserve to win the ball game.’
It wasn’t pretty, but Jim McElwain and Co. moved to 2-0 with a 31-24 win over East Carolina.
There were plenty of mistakes in the ball game. Florida had 12 penalties and turned the ball over twice. During the game, McElwain showed his frustration and went crazy toward running back Kelvin Taylor after an unsportsmanlike penalty.
That kind of play won’t win the Gators many ball games moving forward, and McElwain was visibly upset over the poor performance.
