Keanu Neal has already become an impact player for the Atlanta Falcons. After being selected in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the former Florida Gator proceeded to earn a starting spot on defense almost immediately. He’s been a staple in Atlanta’s secondary ever since.
Now that’s the 6-foot, 211-pound safety is heading into Year 3, he’s looking to take the next step in his development. If the photo that was released by the Falcons’ official Twitter account is any indication, Neal is taking that development seriously.
Check this out.

Neal is already an intimidating presence, but the work he’s put in this offseason could take him to another level.
During his first two seasons in the league, Neal has recorded 222 tackles, 1 INT, 15 pass breakups and 8 forced fumbles. According to Pro Football Focus, he was ranked the No. 3 safety against the run last season with a run-stopping grade of 89.3. He had an overall grade of 85.2 — good enough to make him the No. 17 safety.
The Falcons are expected to be one of the top teams in the NFC this upcoming season. Neal’s presence — along with several other former SEC standout players such as Alabama’s Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley — is a major reason why the high expectations are so high.
After seeing the photo above, he certainly looks ready to make an impact.
