Florida strong, indeed.
Saturday was a notable day for the Gators and many throughout the Sunshine State. Recently, the state dealt with the devastation that came with Hurricane Irma as it traveled from the Florida Keys to Jacksonville and other areas of the peninsula.
On Saturday afternoon, there was a cool moment of unity that happened when Florida defensive back Chauncey Gardner, Jr., ran onto the field with the state flag before the Gators’ game against Tennessee at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The Gators’ Twitter account marked the moment with a “#FloridaStrong” tweet.

Awesome move by Gardner here. He’s a native of Cocoa, Fla., so it’s appropriate that he was chosen to carry the flag in this moment.
Tennessee made the terrific decision to wearing a Florida decal, so there were a bunch of good vibes in The Swamp on Saturday.
