On a normal gameday, the Gainesville Fire Department would be assisting with the Florida football game. But this is not a normal gameday. With LSU-Florida game postponed due to Hurricane Matthew, the Gainesville Fire Department is instead going out and assisting those in the surrounding communities that have been affected by the storm. And the University of Florida is thankful for that.

The damage throughout the state has been significant so the work by the Gainesville Fire Department, and others is huge for the community. The LSU-Florida game has not announced an official makeup date yet. The two teams were supposed to play at noon on ESPN on Saturday.
