Maryland QB commit works out in Florida with Gators CB signee
Florida’s “Recruiter of the Year” is at it again.
For reasons unknown, 4-star quarterback Dwayne Haskins from Maryland was in Cocoa, Fla., on Wednesday working out with UF cornerback signee Chauncey Gardner and four of his Cocoa teammates, including 4-star 2017 athlete Bruce Judson.

Gardner, who’s helped the Gators land several commitments for their 2016 class, has been trying to get Haskins, a Terrapins commit, to flip to Florida for months. The two top-100 recruits competed at The Opening in July and both attended the Florida-Florida State game, when Haskins was on his official visit to UF.
Gardner and Haskins will spend six days together next week in Orlando for the Under Armour All-American practices and game (Jan. 2). Gardner was one of a few Gators commits to tweet at Haskins after Will Grier transferred from Florida.
“I can tell those guys really like me,” Haskins told SEC Country.
UF has two quarterbacks committed for 2016 in Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask, both of whom will enroll next month. The Gators may try to add a third signal caller to the class with the surprising departure of Grier.
