Just hours before kickoff between Florida and Georgia, a report suggested that coach Jim McElwain’s time in Gainesville was not only in question, but evaporating before our very eyes.
A series of tweets from sports agent, and Florida alum, Darren Heitner claimed that the school was working diligently to negotiate McElwain’s buyout, which costs almost $13 million based on research from USA TODAY.
Some media members are, in a sense, saying, “Not so fast, my friend.” Here are some of the reactions to the new rumor spreading about McElwain’s standing with the Gators.
Y source familiar with the situation says there have been no conversations between UF and Sexton regarding McElwain's future at school. https://t.co/PUTDoNn8BF

Heitner also tweeted that a source told him that University of Florida boosters have been “called to pool [money] in anticipation that Gators will soon be hiring new head football coach.”
Florida and Georgia will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS. The 3-3 Gators will look to avoid a three-game losing streak after dropping their past two contests at home against LSU and Texas A&M.
While not much on paper seems to be on Florida’s side, history is, as UF has won each of the last three meetings with UGA and 21 of the last 27.
