GAINESVILLE, Fla. — It’s time for Florida to roll out the red carpet.
Five-star quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect for 2018, is en route to Gainesville for a weekend trip to UF. It will be his first time visiting the Gators.
The 6-foot-6, 196-pounder from Cartersville, Ga., was offered by Florida in January. Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee are currently his top three schools, but UF could become a contender with the quarterback track record of coach Jim McElwain and offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier.
Lawrence will be of several recruits in attendance for Friday’s spring game in The Swamp. SEC Country will have a full visitor preview prior to the Orange & Blue Debut.
