Slade, a 5-foot-9, 185-pound prospect from C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Va., is ranked as a 5-star prospect the No. 20 overall player in his class.
Slade visited Gainesville for Florida’s Friday Night Lights event earlier this summer and came away impressed.
“They talk to you a lot more than the old staff,” Slade told SEC Country’s Zach Abolverdi. “I’m not bashing the old staff, but the new one acts like they have been together for a long time. They are just a really cool staff.
“It was good to come back and see everything again with the new staff. I’m definitely coming back. The visit was just fantastic, I’m trying to find a good word for the visit.”
Slade also made clear he’s open to offers from other schools, so this ride may be far from over.
